Customer Review: It\'s OK, but I expected a better product from Tomtom
My initial impression was good, the case looks nice.
The unit has a VERY snug fit in the case, although I haven\'t suffered the problem that others report of the unit being turned on.
On first use I thought the clip holding the case closed didn\'t work, but what you have to do is push it quite hard into it\'s retainer until it clicks, once you\'ve realised that it works quite well. I\'ve already dropped the case once and the lid didn\'t spring open and my 720 was undamaged, so top marks for that.
So, in summary, not quite up to the standard I\'d expect from Tomtom, but still good enough to do the job (especially at this discounted price)
Customer Review: Don\'t buy it!
I agree with the reviewers below - poorly constructed and unfit for purpose. Case falls apart - catch does not work - TomTom GO 720 fits in case so tightly that it switches the unit on - difficult to remove the unit from the case once in. Don\'t waste your money!

Customer Review: A fantastic gadget and great value for money!
I bought the HP iPAQ with satellite navigation just before my holiday travelling around Britain. I fancied getting the TomTom 300 initially, but had really wanted an excuse for getting a pocket PC, and this was it! I have since been completely wowed by it. Over 5 days I journeyed from Newcastle upon Tyne to Cornwall and back, via Wakefield, Bristol and Derby. I programmed an itinerary which included the postcodes of the places I was staying as well as the names of towns I fancied visiting. When needed it showed petrol stations, cash points, car parks and other places of interest. It comes complete with the GPS receiver and car holder with suckers to attach it to the dashboard or windscreen. The battery seems to last forever and is charging as you drive. I bought a 512MB SD card and downloaded \"DVD to pocket PC\" from the HP site. This turns your pocket PC into a DVD player. So as well as being directed to the doors of all the places I was staying, I also had CDs and DVDs copied onto the memory card to entertain when I arrived.
I have been impressed with the handwriting recognition tool and the sound recorder, which I will probably use at work. I would highly recommend this as a much more versatile alternative to the standard satellite navigation machines.
Customer Review: Excellent value for the gadget lover!
I really, really wanted SatNav for my new car, but couldn\'t afford it at Mazda\'s price. Then I saw this - a bundled PDA and SatNav software for a very reasonable price. I\'d been dithering about getting a PDA, but this decided me. After only 2 weeks of use, I\'m completely hooked! The PDA is basic, but has everything you need to organise your life. Once I\'d synchronised with my PC and all my appointments were transferred, it was easy to add new ones without double-booking myself. It even discreetly reminds me when it\'s time to go to my next appointment. All my contact details are on board as well, which is really handy. It\'s got a cut-down version of Word which is fine for making quick notes, and Excel for doing Hard Sums, although there\'s also a calculator function. You enter characters from an on-screen keyboard with a little stylus, which is a bit fiddly but much easier than texting! I don\'t know how I lived without it! Then there\'s the TomTom software. It comes with a car mounting kit which was easy to install, and a GPS receiver and all the cables you will need. I\'ve tried a few journeys and it works very well, even in city traffic when you need to know where you\'re going. There\'s a choice of voices to give you your directions (I chose Tim) and you can display the map in a variety of ways. It\'s also fun to use. You can choose or display points of interest which should be useful on holiday, and you can get mapping for other countries as well. I found the kit reasonably easy to get to grips with. The only problem I had was installing the ActiveSync software, but I got round that with the help of the website. A really good package!

Customer Review: A good GPS device, wish it was more consistent
I use this GPS device with my mobile all the time. This is a good product and with tomtom\'s software it is quite a productivity tool as I no longer have to worry about how can I get to X. I do lots of travelling and I come to rely on it a lot.
The device works as expected, finds GPS and connect via bluetooth and from there is great.
I never had any issue with bluetooth part of the communication. However, GPS signal has always been patchy. Sometime, when I turn teh device on, it takes a long time to get GPS signal (5 minutes or so). That can be long if you wnat to get to your car and start of to the destination.
In someplaces it looses the signal, though generally once GPS starts, then its all ok. My only major problem is that it never worked in Portsmouth (UK) or Spain. Just refused to get a signal. This happened once though, so I am not sure if the fault was on the device or something else.
Battery life is good. All they have to do to improve this product is to make it smaller (Does it have to be this big) and get a more consistent GPS signal.
Customer Review: Works everywhere
I bought this to go with my Nokia N73 and Nokia E61. It works brilliantly, both in Europe when I am travelling, and in South Africa where I live. Simple to use, always works, and goes on and on between charges.
Excellent piece of kit, as are the TomTom maps for mobile phones.
